Who am I?

My name is Élodie Carvalho, I am 37 years old, a special educator, and a professional in supporting people with disabilities for 19 years. I work with children, adolescents, and adults who have intellectual disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders (NDD).

What I particularly love about my work is helping each individual develop their skills and resources. I am passionate about Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). For me, communication is not an option, it is a fundamental right. I am committed to enabling everyone to express choices, opinions, pain, desires, or needs.

Moreover, what motivates me as a freelance professional is always acting in the best interest of people with disabilities. I place great importance on a personalized, respectful, and tailored approach for each individual. My goal is to promote their autonomy and well-being in everyday life.

I also strongly believe in supporting the whole person. This allows me to be coherent and close to each individual’s needs by considering not only their challenges but also their strengths and potential.

Thanks to my experience and qualifying, certified training, I offer professional, compassionate support based on recognized methods
